Overall Reviews at Bankers Life
1.0
100% on your own while earning 40% of industry standard.
Training is 100% on you, the information is provided with no true structure. The "in the field" training happens by chance as you are assigned to random agents while attempting to schedule your personal prospecting around an unknown zip code and/or schedule of your "trainer". Mandatory office days coupled with prospecting on the phone and door-knocking will add up to 60-70 hrs a week. Plan on a 6 day work week that would not include a self-study day out of the office. Prepare to justify to your trusting clients why they are paying 25% higher rates for products that fail in comparison to competitors. Disappointing commission structure coupled with a CAPTIVE, 1099 contract agreement does nothing to compensate the aged "free" leads.
ProsProfessional office model, opportunity for self-starter with no need for work/life balance.
ConsInferior commission structure, products, lead quality coupled with a prehistoric work/life balance formula.

Productive and great team work
Based on my experience for working with Banker's Life here at the Honolulu branch office, I would say it was very good. The management team was very passionate about working with everyone on the team with reaching not only the branch goal, but as well as personal goals. Everyone was always willing to provide a helping had and very friendly.

Fun workplace
Leads are not great, good work environment. Very supportive staff, everyone pitches in to get you to where you need to be. Training could be better, everything is covered so fast.

Great company with wonderful people working for it
The environment is positive and upbeat with a team-oriented mindset. However, for office personnel there is not a lot of incentive or opportunity for growth

long hours for little pay
This is a commission based only company. You work long hours, 7 days a week, trying to convince people to buy insurance products that don't always fit their needs

Productive Place with fun people!
This company wasnt anything less than great. Requires long days but once you get rolling its nice! The managers are excellent, its very scary going into a 100% comission based business.

dream job
I loved my job, great staff, great hour. Gave me great knowledge about insurance. The hardest part of the job was when they down sized.

Freedom
Set own schedule - no set hours - nice guys to work with, but they really don’t fully explain the amount of cold calling required - hard job to get started for a newcomer to the area - they rely on your personal network to get a foot in the door - or sell policies to yourself or immediate famiky

Was not happy working on complete commission
The job is complete commission, no base salary at all. Was not happy about that. I don't believe that is the type of job for someone with a family & financial responsibilities can live on
