Overall Reviews at Bank of America

opportunities for advance and grow within company
Processors are Overworked and underpaid but there is a space to grow within company and good support if you know where to find it. Overall a good place to work if you like big corporate world structure.
Prosgood group of people to work with, free lunches, training provided
Consshort breaks, a lot of overtime towards the end of month, hard work not appreciated by Loan Officers

Great City Ok Job
My experience will be different than others, I experienced a colleague who showed lack of respect as a fellow worker which clouded my work experience and made it less than favorable work environment. If that person was not part of the team I would changed my outlook on the company and the job as a whole.

Great Place to Work
I've been able to grow and have a full and engaging career here. I was recruited in through Merill Lynch CFO Intern and Analyst Programs in 2007 and 2008 and survived the Bank of America acquisition.

Intense environment where those who can't fully dedicate themselves are weeded out quickly
Senior bankers have no patience or tolerance for misunderstanding. Most junior bankers are only there for 1-2 years and then leave to join a PE fund.

I expected MUCH much different.
I worked in the Merrill Lynch division & when I was told how things were pre-BofA, and then experienced how they are now, It's not surprising many people left, but what is, that more didn't! The workday was extended, the lunch break cut in half, raises and bonuses stopped for the employees that needed them the most and a lot of jobs outsourced to staffing agencies to fill with long term temps (that's what I was). now, I know there were expenses and things to get under control but I didn't see the annual salaries and bonuses of the BofA executives taking any cuts post-takeover.
Prosit was a paycheck.....the least I've made since I was 16 working at Macy's....and I'm 42 now.
Consshort breaks, hard to break into, it's who you know and nepotism rules the roost.

The work was challenging and rewarding.
The mix of contractors and employees in our department made it easily to learn and get up-to-speed on projects and required support we were required to provide.
Unfortunately 3 years into this work, the department was dissolved.
ProsGreat job, pay, and management
ConsNone of this exists anymore

great place to work
The people, my colleagues and team mates were the best group of people. The work was challenging and exciting then the money dried up for contractors and my contract was cut short without much lead notice during the holiday season. That was not good
