Great place to work
Great people to work with. Fun atmosphere. Very helpful meetings with the office manager and CEO. The office manage and the CEO were great to work with as well as the supervisors and the general foremen.

working outdoors
A person must enjoy working outdoors and not be afraid of hard work to succeed performing the job tasks require for this profession.
The reward for working though the rain and the snow are the beautiful days we are working outside, not trapped inside a building.

competitive
workplace culture is stressful, competitive and management makes it a policy to schedule more tasks without giving you enough commensurate time to accomplish said tasks.
Proshealth care
Conspoor management communication to supervised personnel

new manager usually means old management out the door
Worked as office manager for 1 month short of a 8 years. Refused to hire 2 men who had no identification on them and my job was doomed from that day on. Current manager made up a "rule" to fire me over, i filed unemployment and was awarded it, they fought it and I still won. Oh, and never got paid the 79.5 hours of vacation time that they owed me.
Loved the people I worked with prior to new manager, still keep in touch with many of them and am saddened to see the down turn that the region has taken.
ProsPeople and the benefits as far as insurance and paid holidays
Consnew manager can be a jerk and will always be right, even when he isn't.

Ok job to work
If you like year round work and lack of true pay.for what we do but good pay none the less than this is it. Benefits are better than most a union job. Make sure you are fit to climb trees in the -20 winter weather

Looks for a fall guys
Defended Company with OSHA and won the case but then was held accountable for another employee willful neglect when he got hurt. Having the accountability of over 300 employees working in 4 states out in the field and being singled out when incidents happened. I would always ask when about the employees personal accountability.
ConsLong hours and no overtime when your salary was based off of 40 per week

Exciting place to work.
there is no 'typical' day doing Power Line Clearance Tree Trimming. Every tree is different and could be very close to the wires or right in them. Storm work is a whole new game. During storm you can work in various weather conditions and up to 40hrs straight. You can work with many different types of co-workers, apprentices, people with 20+ years and know nothing to very intelligent workers (mostly). All in all a good pac eto work.
ProsExciting work. Outdoors.
ConsNo paid vacations or holidays.
