Duties

The Army officer is responsible for the protection of life and property, ensuring that all personnel are protected from harm. This includes but not limited to: security, fire, surveillance, medical care, training, education, military service, etc. as well as providing support in combat operations (e.g) with special assignments as assigned by command or commanders on duty; conducting field patrols at designated locations; performing other duties as assigned.

Detailed job duties include:

  • Serve as an Army officer in the Armed Forces.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older to serve with distinction and possess a valid military officer's card.

Qualification

  • Must be a U.S Army Reserve Officer or have completed the Armed Forces Training Academy (AFTA) in military service, and possess an active duty officer certificate of completion from one year of college
  • Must also meet all requirements for certification as required by law to become armed forces officers within six months after graduation with a minimum of two years’ experience on active duty
  • May not require any additional training beyond that requirement until such time is met through graduate school
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen including background check prior to employment
  • Must successfully complete their education at least three years
