Totally Amazing Experienced
I really love to work with US Army Corps Of Engineers and their employees. A peacefully workplace culture. A lot of knowledge required for the job but it deserved it. The most enjoyable part of the job was the field, working as a QAS.

Very Nice to work and learn new and challenging things.
The Corps of Engineers is a great place to work and the people are friendly. Since being employed there I have advanced and I have obtained my DOD Financial Management Level II Certification
I worked with people of diverse culture. The hardest part of the job is getting funding for certain projects, and the most enjoyable part of my job is working with my peers and outside customers daily.

Great Benefits and Pension
Overall great place to work. Typical Federal red tape on every action but good steady employment. You will get out of it what you put into the job. I enjoyed the city and people.

Great Organization
Great organization with an important and diverse mission. Telework is widely accepted and pride in the Corps of Engineers is very strong. Satisfaction is largely dependent on your work unit.

I work for five government agencies this one's the best
Great tradition. They value you as an employee. You feel a sense accomplishment at the end of the day. But it's government not the best pay. Very safe environment.
ProsJob security
ConsPays okay but it could be better

Much tougher to work at the field site than the district office
Working in the district office, I saw counterparts with many fringe benefits that were not afforded the field personnel: more opportunity to promote, more flexible work hours, opportunities to telework and earn credit hours. None of these options were afforded field locations. The location I was in required a 45-60 min commute, at times under hazardous winter conditions. When roads were this bad, the district office personnel were allowed to stay home with pay or work from home, even though many lived within a 15min walk from the office. Pay for supervisors is many times equal to those whom a supervisor is expected to lead. There are not benefits to a supervisor position (pay, time, bonus), but the time and responsibility requirements are excessive.

A good place for a career
Work with the Corps of Engineers is very challenging and rewarding for those who strive to provide quality work and have a desire to complete satisfactory work.
ProsA good place for advancement and complete a satisfying career.
ConsAs with any organization there are some people who get preferential treatment.

Excellent work environment
Coordinate with all State and Federal Regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Provide oversight on all construction projects to ensure quality assurance, coordinate with Public Service Commission on all utility compliance and safety, and serve as approval authority on Government purchases and contracts.
ProsCaring and enjoyable environment
ConsNone to mention

great place to work
Culture is the environment that surrounds you at work all of the time. Culture is a powerful element that shapes your work enjoyment, your work relationships, and your work processes. But, culture is something that you cannot actually see, except through its physical manifestations in your workplace.
