Productive Business with great hard workers
A typical work day for me would be operating a turret lift transporting goods from one area to the next in a safe and timely manner, dropping as many tickets as required for that day. Also being able to scan and input data in sytems, also being able to pick up 1-45 lbs because we may also have to pick items off of pallet. The hardest part was probably the picking portion of the job because they're were some pretty heavy things. The culture was cool very hard workers. The most enjoyable part would be finishing all my tickets knowing I accomplished my job for that day.

hardest part of the job
the thing you do at the job is most likely you would do here but here when someone does some things wrong they don't own up to their mistakes and no managers do their jobs efficiently

Productive and a positive cultural experience.
Starting the day with an uplifting morning meeting. Then busy with vendors kept me on my toes. I learned it's good to take as many free courses available without interference with day to day tasks. Management styles vary and one learns a lot to take with to any job. Co-workers vary in culture and it's a wonderful experience. The most enjoyable part of the job was learning from the operations of a store and how everything comes together; From warehouse to the front line associates to customer relations. As well as running an operation and taking care of the customers.
ProsAwards ceremonies, associate gatherings/parties, free classes and training.
ConsAnnual inventory conducted by all associates.

Served the best customers in the world, the US Military
Ensured invoices processed, collection of monies due AAFES, balanced accounts, reviewed payment errors, researched and posted payments to vendors. Direct contact with vendor accounts. Knowledge of every department within company from Catalog sales to overseas accounting and warehouse and shipping/freight.
ProsSatisfaction in knowing our service members were takent care of. Patriotic and caring.
ConsManagement hired into wrong postions who brought morale down. Eliminating staff, new systems which did not work and caused anger with vendor accounts

fast pace and safe environment
The typical day to day operations is fast pace and very fluid. There is always opportunities to learn something new everyday, especially from the customers you interact with on a daily basis. The management staff is very helpful in resolving issues and providing a flexible or alternate work schedule that will accommodate your needs. The workplace is a diverse culture, which makes it enjoyable to work and learn new things from many different perspectives. The most enjoyable part of the job is working with customers and ensuring they find and get what they need.
ProsSafe work environment
ConsNo full time positions

Learned a lot
This is a great place for military families to work and learn new skills. Enjoyed most of my time and the people that I worked directly with. This is not something that I want to continue with but will miss all the people that I work with.

Workplace
The workplace was boring and long. I didn't enjoy working at this job. I dreaded going to work there and I wouldn't want to work there again.

A company to start with
I have worked with Aafes for a combined total of a year and a half, I first started as a warehouse worker/stocker working one of the crappier morning shifts and it was not too bad, then eventually worked at a shoppette and that wasn't too bad. overall I would say this company is a good company to start off with and get a bit of general experience in retail and other areas.

Totally fantastic place to work.
On a typical day start with my part time job for the American Embassy, walk to the store, make sure everything was clean and ready for our customer's, stock shelves, ordered .
items, train any new associates we might have.
I learned how to be a good manager.
The work place was fantastic with people from so many different countries.
The hardest part of working there, was fighting with custom's of that country, in order to help customer's coming into store.
The best part was working with the troops and their families, in getting them everything that they needed or wanted.
Prosthe people, from so many different countries.
Consworking with some of the locals.

Job is hard under agency
Working at the US base camps in Kuwait is fun and a peculiar experience, salaries and benefits is not good since it was under an agency which siphon most of the income we supposed to received.
ProsNice management at the Camp
