Fun, and trendy atmosphere to work in.
Great people. Lots of customers so little time. Constantly on your feet round-robinning responsibilities at the store. Floor maintenance and assisting customers
Prosbreak room, employee discounts
Consdisorganized, inexperienced management

Constantly working with customers and cash rep
Start out with a store meeting, highlighting important facts and details that were beneficial to that specific day, then going to your assigned floor, meeting with the floor manager and checking to see which sections you are assigned. Sections including: running clothes back to the floor coming from the fitting, cashier, ringing out customers, answering any questions, giving them surveys, and also sales advisers whom would be in charge of staying on sales floors constantly ensuring customers had their proper customer service.

Management
Management doesn't care about employees, treat everyone as replaceable regardless of time spent in position. Overall the reason that I decided to leave, there was no room for growth.

Creative and enjoyable working environment
Thoroughly enjoy my job on the day to day, and is favorable over most retail companies. Amazing benefits to full time employees, and supports growth and movement within the company.

Everyday touch bases
At Topshop and topman we had three touch bases per day. I managed my own floor with 33 employees. As the company is still somewhat new to the US market there was grey area about certain things.

Not the right fit for me.
I thought the change would be a good fit for me. I also thought I would like the challenge it offered. People were great but I did not care for the work.
ProsGreat co-workers

Poor workplace.
Very often promised certain job roles but often there are not enough staff members to successfully cover the shop floor and so your job changes. Staff are expected to do anything asked of them and there is a poor work/life balance. This is not the case in all stores however it is often the case.
There are usually a lot of opinions and 'chefs in the kitchen'.
Some managers are very willing to develop staff and are amazing but a lot of the time it can be difficult to develop. Wages are often poor and you really have to ask to get a pay rise and put the work in, not easy to get what you deserve.
ProsStaff discount and business wear, the company looks good on your CV
ConsPoor wages, difficult managers, poor work/life balance

A memorable work experience placement
The managers of the store were pleasant to work under; they were fair and hard working also. Supervisors/senior sales assistants (all female) were friendly and helpful with new recruits however had multiple personalities: on breaks, the majority of supervisors/senior sales assistants were insulting towards one another, behind each other's backs. They put me off working at Miss Selfridge.

Attending daily fit sessions with assistance of measuring, manipulating specs and comments.
Carrying out visits to the DC to assist in a QC check and visiting local laboratories and factories.
Dealing with factory audit, with regular contact with suppliers.

productive and fun work place help a lot of people
hi' you could say you use a list that ranks in priority of the task's to complete with a time scale added to act as motivation ,with appropriate rest periods built in to help stimulate you for other task's,should an emergency arrive.
I'm always interested in finding new ways to learn better and faster. As a graduate student who is also a full-time science writer, the amount of time I have to spend learning new things is limited. It's important to get the most educational value out of my time as possible. However, retention, recall and transfer are also critical. I need to be able to accurately remember the information I learn, recall it at a later time and utilize it effectively in a wide variety of situations.

Easy and social workplace, but not my chosen career path
A typical day would consist of serving customers, unpacking & sorting delivery, talking to customers over the phone, stockroom organisation and tidying of the shop floor.
I have learned how to tend to a customers needs quickly and efficiently providing a friendly but professional service. I can navigate the till systems with ease but work at my best in the stockroom. I like to maintain a tidy and organised workplace so being given the responsibility to look after mountains of stock does not phase me.
My colleges are bright and social characters who all provide an outstanding service within the store. They are a pleasure to be around and make working in a group situation quite comfortable.
The hardest part of the job would be getting accounts signed because its a very difficult sell in the current financial climate.
What I enjoy most about being at Burton Menswear is helping customers to decide upon a product they want to buy. Working in a clothing store requires a knowledge of trends and styles that work for all ages, sizes and genders so helping a customer to leave the store with an outfit that they are happy with and would feel comfortable wearing brings me a definite sense of satisfaction.
Prosextended breaks on long shifts, clean and well made products to work with
Conshigh travel costs, long journey times, not my chosen career path
