Hours and travel
As a manager, I had a flexible working schedule, however with that said, I traveled around the country for the better part of the year. They pay generously if you can sustain the travel

Secure Career
Working for Amtrak you have the potential for a long career. Once getting grounded and involved in the company there may be oppotrunities for you to move into a position within Amtrak that interests you more.

Professional atmosphere.
My work is constantly changing. One day I could be managing interns or trainees and the next day I will be submerged in a project using different types of analytical software.

Review
Depending on the area that you work in, Amtrak is not for everyone. Working On Board Services keeps you away from home days at a time. If that works for you, the benefits are very good. I like my job and would like to advance but that is difficult.

Pretty decent job
Everyone had a clear title and work position, whether it was ticket agent, baggage handler, costumer service or whatever. Sometimes it could get a little hectic especially with trains coming and going. Overall, get to know you job and your role and you'll be ok...
