Don't hold your breath
This company started off great. Family oriented. Friendly competition. But once you get to a certain level YOU HIT A CEILING!! Upper management only care about who they "think" are the A players. No further advancement of you're not a favorite regardless of how hard you work or how well you succeed. Only excuses why no one will be recognized. If you have a great idea, it will be ignored unless you are also one of the "insiders". This place is or has gone down hill and will lose a lot of A players if the egos don't get checked.

Good
The pay is kinda low for the job but I assume that’s because the products are cheaper than every other company. I genuinely enjoyed my job and enjoyed making people feel good in glasses. They made people managers that shouldn’t have been. We were short staffed so I understand the urgency to have a manager. But if someone’s not ready then they’re not ready. After almost 5 years, I just needed something different.
ProsMaking people happy
ConsLong hours and weekend work.

Do not work for the company
Managers here are HORRIBLE HR is pretty much non existent & the managers get away with a lot of things you have to know people to get into higher positions pay is not the best, bonuses are almost impossible to meet. Just avoid this company their materials & lab is the bad as well

Work place
I really love the manager and some of the employees but most of them never wanna do their job calls out comes in and do nothing I don’t get paid enough to do my job plus theirs if they pay me more then I would have no problem doing that but they get away with almost everything. Something needs to be done

Certified Ophthalmic tech
Americas Best Eyeglasses and contacts provides a great starting position for anyone interested in the ophthalmic industry. A typical day is fast paced and customer oriented. I have learned quite a lot in my field as it relates to pre testing, history taking and basic patient care. The hardest part of the job is attempting to meeting the exact needs of every patient and at the same time that aspect is also the most rewarding and enjoyable.
ProsGreat Starting place for anyone interested in the industry and plenty of opportunity
Consextremely fast paced

Good place to learn
Pay is not so good but if you want to get experienced then this is the place. Management varies depending on the location you work . District manager is not so helpful.
ConsFlexible schedules depending on management

Americas Best Contacts Review
Very good company to work for. There was a lot of competitive issues. The hours were horrible. You had to work every Saturday. We always had work, because people always need glasses.

Easy going place with amazing staff and team mentality.
My main focus throughout the day Is to help patients choose their glasses and present features to go along with a higher quality product.
I learned that helping people gives me a great sense of accomplishment, helping them see better and to help them in choosing glasses that they loved is something I really enjoyed.
Management was ok, too much micro managing for my taste and over booking of appointments when short staffed.
My team was awesome, we all looked out for each other and we were always learning from one another.
I enjoyed the hand shake that i got from my patients before they would walk out the door the most.
ProsGreat team mentality.
Constoo much micro managing at my branch.

Productive and fun work place with rewards
The majority of my day was spent at the front reception desk, sitting or standing. My duty was to greet guests with a smile and hello as they walked in, find out what they needed help with, point them in the right direction or hand them the correct paperwork to get started. Then, I reviewed their forms to make sure it was completed and accurate. Another part of my job was to verify their insurances, book, cancel, and confirm appointments. Keep my station tidy. Organize and file paperwork/files. Answer phone calls. Make phone calls. And acknowledging the guest as they left.
Prosweekly and monthly sales contests with prizes sometimes given, breaks well scheduled, good communication among office staff
