This is a great company very fair however it just isn't what is being looked for. Would like to expand further in another field as this is not what I want.

Fast paced environment full of challenges and opportunities!
Working at AC for over 15 years provided me an opportunity to meet and interact with many people from various cultures, languages and nationalities on a daily basis. This enabled me to develop a better understanding of dealing with different customs and enriched my experience in human relations especially when difficult situations arose.
ProsAbility to travel, meet people, health benefits
ConsExtensive delays at times cause irate passengers

Eh
I was an intern so I wasn't looking to stay with the company for long. The head boss had her favorites so there wasn't any way to get on her good side if you weren't there already.

Flexibility to work from home
I enjoyed the flexibility of working from home, setting my own schedule and being responsible for my own sales success based on my productivity. I learned to be nimble, flexible and a team player.

All Manager n Supervisors know the job inside out.
It is a hard job but you get as much help as possible. With the right people, working together it is a tough job that can be done. Start with liking people because that is what it comes down to. Then make sure you want to help people. Best office of 3 different airlines. Unlike the offices of other management. this door is literally open.
ProsGreat people to work with n great flight benefits.
ConsSome leads were nasty and didnt do their job by helping you do yours.

Not my favorite airline to work for.
Management only appears when disciplinary action needs to handed down.
No upward or lateral growth opportunities.
Union Teamsters and shop stewards are garbage.

Management
Trainers very experienced, on the floor a lot of help, and a lead team very helpful and available all the time. Management very professional and helpful. You just need to be reliable and respectful. In my time at Air Canada I learned a lot about customer service representative job. I appreciate they gave me the opportunity to be part of Air Canada.

Excellent company to work for!
Every day a new adventure and a new experience. Got to travel a lot in my functions and the people are really committed. I really do miss working there.

Invaluable Experience
You learn very quickly how to resolve operational issues.
In Toronto AMF, it is very fluid, especially when it comes to weather delays and cancellations. IRROPS have become the norm in Toronto, and with that the responsibility to think outside the box, focus, and act with a +2hour window.
The culture at times, can be a hazard, but that comes with any big organization(s).
Overall, great experience if you want to see and learn front line operational issues.
The experience that you gain, and carry, is invaluable. No two problems are alike. No two experiences are the same. Everyday you come into work, everyday you will have a unique experience, conversation, problem, and possible solution.
With all that bundled together. It's the experience you will gain.

Interesting and fascinating multicultural environment
The people are fun. The multi-cultural background is fascinating. We meet in the lunch room first . We talk about our previous day's activities, about sports, entertainment and cultural matters such as cuisine. We are then briefed by our managers as to their expectations and disciplinary requirements and potential problems

Interview Process - Terrible
Interviews are set up via email. No phone call. No pre-screening.
No discussion in regards to compensation package.
Only a short notice is provided to prepare for a slide-deck presentation (2 days, from initial notice to date of interview).
From when we sat down, there was continual yawning and distracted eye-glancing to the hall to see who was passing. There was swearing in the interview.
First impressions are important. Each employee represents the company when they are on the corporate premise. It was an unprofessional experience.
ProsNothing
ConsUnprofessional, no structure, lack of process and tools established with certain divisions of the company.

If You like travel and travelers this is the place for you.
Eat, Sleep...Travel.
You will be able to improve any customer service and management skills you think you may already have. This company will increase the speed and dedication to customers by 3 to 5 times anything you have done outside the airline business.
ProsTravel
ConsYour work life is at the mercy of Canadian weather.
